Rex Lumber moved its headquarters from Cambridge to Acton in 1980 due to a need for additional space. Located just 21 miles northwest of Boston, Acton has a long history in lumber production. The predominantly forested area was home to 4 sawmills during the Industrial Revolution. Today, Rex Lumber’s Acton location is a fully operational lumber yard equipped with kilns to dry lumber to its optimal moisture content. The facility also offers custom milling services. Rex Lumber sources about 20 million board feet per year in over 60 species. With over 60 thousand moulding profiles and value-added services like priming, sanding and finishing, Rex Lumber strives to make our customers’ jobs easier. In addition to the construction industry, we also work with flooring retailers, amusement park owners, musical instrument builders and casket makers.
